Murphy Beds and Wall Beds

A murphy bed is the answer when one room has to do two jobs. Ours are wrapped in built-in cabinetry with shelving on both sides, so when the bed is up the wall reads as a bookcase rather than a folded mattress.

We use certified piston or spring mechanisms rated for the mattress size, anchored into framing, and we handle the whole assembly including the trim that hides the reveal.

Materials and finishes

Painted MDF or laminate cases with a rigid, screwed and doweled carcass, since a wall bed is one of the few pieces of cabinetry that moves every day.

Murphy bed installations generally run $3,500 to $9,500 including the mechanism and the surrounding cabinetry.
